The charity fund Hope UA together with the NGO IDPs of Ukraine opened the All-Ukrainian Unification Point in Lviv and launched the "Choice" social adaptation program.
The space of trust and environment of development "Choice" provides a center where social adaptation programs for IDPs and vulnerable population groups will be conducted on a regular basis.
Social adaptation includes: psychological and legal consultation, cultural and educational and social events according to the calendar of events, professional development, retraining, and assistance with employment. Access to information about special opportunities for IDPs. Access to the point of association of IDPs in the city of Lviv (with uninterrupted electricity supply, Internet, with hot drinks, co-working space, children's and entertainment area, seminars and trainings) and, if necessary, humanitarian aid.
The idea of the project "Choice": To help forcibly displaced Ukrainians adapt to a new place of residence.
The center was opened on March 4 at 12:00. There was a meeting and registration of IDP participants on the Selection form, familiarization with the programs and initial consultations with a social worker/lawyer.
At 1:10 p.m., the "Circle of influence and anxiety" training was held, where the problems of the IDPs' lives were identified, and advice was given on how to distinguish between those problems that they influence and those that do not.
The main problems of IDPs are employment in a new city, lack of housing stock and social adaptation.
Summing up took place at 15:00. The main vectors of activity, as well as the provision of humanitarian aid, were also determined.
At 4:00 p.m. - the start of the trip for IDP children to Germany with prior registration and approval of parents and the Lviv District Council.
Fate is not a matter of chance, but the result of a choice. Fate is not expected, it is created! - this quote became the slogan of the project and a motivational vector of the movement for IDPs.
The partners of the event were: Polish Humanitarian Mission, Caritas, UN Migration Service, CORE, ROKADA, SSS, Council of Europe, Speak Ukrainian, Leader in Men, DEMAC, Danish refugee council, Norwegian refugee council, People in Need, UN UNHCR, UNICEF, Save the Children, Volunteer Networking.
