HopeLUNCHES

The HopeLUNCHES project and the coordinated work of the team have done a very good job. After all, in a difficult time, when the whole of Ukraine was suffering from power outages, HopeUA together with the SAVOR restaurant were able to help a large number of people. HopeLUNCHES is a project not only about physical comfort or satisfying hunger, but also psychological support, reminders of home cooking and creating comfort for IDPs in this difficult time.

The project started on November 21, 2022.

The main goal: providing warm food to Ukrainians who suffered from the war and needed help.

It was a difficult period for many Ukrainian families: winter has started, problems with electricity began in Ukraine due to mass attacks by the aggressor country on energy infrastructure facilities, and not all ordinary citizens could basically provide themselves with hot home-made food.

Therefore, together with the permanent partner of the HopeUA charity fund, the SAVOR restaurant, it was decided to implement the HopeLUNCHES project.

HopeLUNCH is a hot lunch for internally displaced persons and socially vulnerable residents of Lviv Oblast.

We bought several generators, made a balanced menu and thought out a schedule to deliver food to a number of points.

Every day, we provided 95 to 100 people with hot lunches in the city of Komarno, the village of Peremozhny, and the Tourist Hotel in Lviv, where internally displaced persons are permanently housed in compact accommodation. Every day, families received a hot lunch, which not only provided their diet, but also allowed them to warm up and feel the atmosphere of home.

The project lasted the entire winter period of 2022 and effectively provided hundreds of IDPs with food.

At the beginning of spring, my team and I decided to close this project, because now there are no problems with electricity, and also, very unfortunately, we don’t longer have transport to deliver these dinners. As the warm season begins, it has become easier to prepare food. We talked to people who were helped during this period, and their words of gratitude greatly inspired us to do good in the future. We agreed that we will deliver food supplies to these points if necessary, and people will be able to cook their favorite dishes themselves” – comments co-founder of the fund Oksana Kruchinina.

A total of 8,449 hot meals were prepared.

In monetary equivalent – about 1,267,350 hryvnias.
